Starting her second full season, Executive Director Natassia Perrine joins Music Director Adam Flatt and Board President-Elect Col. (Ret.) Duane Lamb to present “Land of the Free” at Moody Concert Hall—a 9/11 tribute that pairs American masterworks with immersive “visual concertos” by Nicholas Bardonnay (Westwater Arts). The program traces sacrifice and gratitude through Barber’s Essay No. 1 (“No Man’s Land,” with WWI imagery) and Copland’s Symphony No. 3 (“Citizen Soldier,” honoring WWII), then turns to our shared landscapes with a National Park Suite set to Dvořák’s New World Symphony—all under the season theme “The Sounds of Triumph.” The evening also recognizes veterans in attendance and features a presentation of colors by UA ROTC; students attend free.
