Beethoven Lives Upstairs brings the life and music of Ludwig van Beethoven to the stage through a lively exchange of letters between young Christoph and his uncle. When a mysterious “madman” moves into the apartment upstairs, Christoph slowly discovers the genius, struggle, and beauty behind one of history’s greatest composers.
Featuring actors, orchestra, and more than 25 excerpts of Beethoven’s music — including Moonlight Sonata, Für Elise, and the Fifth and Ninth Symphonies — this 45-minute concert blends storytelling, drama, history, and live symphonic music in a way that is engaging for students and families.
TSO’s Annual Young Persons’ Concert is recommended for ages 6 and up. Reservations are available for K–12 school groups for the 9:30 AM and 10:45 AM performances.
