The Tuscaloosa Symphony introduced two new series during the 2008–2009 season: the Stained Glass Series and the Family Discovery Series.
The Family Discover Series is the perfect introduction to the symphony orchestra. Audience members of all ages will enjoy orchestra classics such as Peter and the Wolf complete with narration.
The first Family Discovery Series concert was held on Saturday, February 28, 2009, at 6:00 p.m. at Moody Hall. The TSO was joined by guest narrator Doff Procter as the TSO ventured into the animal kingdom with family favorites such as Peter and the Wolf, Carnival of the Animals, and other popular symphony favorites come to life out of joyful music.
The TSO Stained Glass Series series contains chamber music concerts that allow our audience to hear individual members of the symphony perform.
On Thursday, October 9, 2008 the Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra unveiled its Stained Glass Chamber Series at First Presbyterian Church. The purpose of this chamber music series is to merge world-class music with Tuscaloosa’s most significant, beautiful venues. These concerts are a more intimate setting and allow for a relaxing evening of music.
