TSO ANNOUNCES SYMPHONY CHORUS AUDITIONS

The TSO is seeking interested vocalists to join the University of Alabama “University Singers” in a performance entitled, “Ode to Joy: Tuscaloosa Remembers and Re-builds”. The concert takes place on April 23, 2012. John Ratledge will serve as Choirmaster and Pamela Gordon as Collaborative Pianist.

This concert will recognize the one-year anniversary of the devastating tornadoes of April 27, 2011 and our community’s efforts to rebuild a better Tuscaloosa.

CONCERT PROGRAM:

WORLD PREMIERE: Symphonia de Requiem (Baritone, Chorus and Orchestra) by Joseph Landers

Symphony No. 9, op. 125, d minor (Choral), Ludwig van Beethoven

REQUIREMENTS:

AUDITIONS: January 22, 2012 3:00-5:00 PM, Room 167, Moody Music Building

• Interested vocalists should call or email the TSO office to reserve a time slot (first-come-first-serve).
• The audition will only be seven minutes and will include vocalization to ascertain range, timbre and sight reading ability.

REHEARSALS:

Sundays from 3:00-5:00 p.m. in the IRR (Moody Music) unless otherwise noted.
